About BenefitRates

BenefitRates is an independent guide to Australian government payment rates. It brings together the current rate of every major Centrelink payment, what each one was before, and a set of plain estimators, all in one place and all traceable to the official documents they come from.

The site is published by Inventum Pty Ltd, an Australian company. Its content is prepared and maintained by BenefitRates Editorial. We do not publish personal names or invented credentials. What we offer instead is something you can check for yourself: a named publisher, an open method, dated figures, and a source reference on every number.

Why this site exists

The official rates are correct. The problem is that they are scattered. Services Australia publishes each payment on its own page, the Department of Social Services publishes the underlying rates in long PDF lists, and neither one puts every payment side by side, shows what a rate used to be, or lets you compare one payment against another.

So a simple question, how much is a payment now and how does it compare, can take a dozen open tabs to answer. The gap then gets filled by sites that copy figures carelessly, mix up the base rate with the total, or quote a rate from the wrong indexation date.

We built BenefitRates to close that gap. Every payment in one consistent format, every figure taken straight from the official source and stamped with its date, and a method you can read for yourself.

Independent, and not a government service

BenefitRates is a private publication. Independent. Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Services Australia, Centrelink, or the Australian Government.

We report the figures these agencies publish. We do not use the Australian Coat of Arms or any agency logo, and we never imply that we speak for the government. Centrelink and Services Australia are named on this site only to refer to the real payments and programs they run.

What we do not do

BenefitRates gives you information, not advice. To be clear about the limits:

We do not give financial, legal, or Centrelink advice, and we do not tell you which payment to claim.

We do not process claims, lodge anything for you, or deal with Services Australia on your behalf.

We do not know anything about your Centrelink record. We hold no personal information about you, your payments, or your payment dates.

For anything to do with your own circumstances, Services Australia is the place to go.

Found something wrong?

Accuracy is the whole point of this site, so a correction is genuinely useful to us. If a figure here does not match a Services Australia letter or the official DSS rates list, email support@inventum.com.au and tell us the page and what you expected. We check every report against the source document and fix what needs fixing.
